Ambassador Profile: Alan
Name: Alan Capps
Hometown: Graham, NC
Major: Textile Technology
3rd Year Ambassador
Why did you decide to apply to be an Alumni Ambassador? I was looking for a way to get involved on campus and I saw a good friend of mine, Alycia McLamb, working an event and she told me how beneficial it would be to apply for. I then looked into what being an Ambassador was all about and filled the application in the next day.
What excites you most about being an Alumni Ambassador? There are many things that excite me about being an Alumni Ambassador, whether its working events or developing the close bond with my fellow Ambassadors, but the most exciting thing for me is that I get to work with the amazing student body we have here at NC State,
What is your favorite AASAP event? My favorite AASAP event would have to be Homecoming Kick-off, simply because Homecoming week is one of my favorites and kick-off gets everyone super excited and ready to show as much school spirit as possible; it makes me proud to be a part of the Wolfpack.
What is your favorite AASAP memory? My favorite AASAP memory would have to be taking a trip to Washington DC this past year. We were able to tour the Capitol building, visit all the monuments in one day (whew!) and best of all we did it together!
What is something you are involved in outside of the Alumni Ambassadors? Outside of AASAP, I am the Vice President of Programming for Beta Theta Pi and I am also a Research and Patents Engineer for Welspun USA.
